On the agenda: inspiring presentations and discussions, all aiming at transforming biogas solutions into tangible actions. Renewable gases, including #biogas and #biomethane, are affordable, sustainable and secure energy sources for Europe. They will be central to achieve carbon-neutrality by 2050 and help the EU become less dependent in external energy supplies. Their use is essential if we are to accelerate the reduction of GHG emissions in multiple sectors, including buildings, industry, transport and agriculture. They help abate emissions across the whole value chain. 🌎 At New Energies, our commitment is unwavering: leveraging biogas and biomethane is is key to decarbonize not only transport but also many other sectors. They are leading the way in recording tangible results : up to 80% of CO2 emissions reduction by using biomethane for heavy transport (as stated in our manifesto on renewable gases). It is now time for action. Such renewable gases may be deployed quickly if a coherent and supportive regulatory framework at European level is built.
